For this in-class assignment, I'm going to ask you, as a class, to divide into three working groups to each prepare a short, formal report of around three pages in length.
Your report should define to me what a report is—that is, what generically is considered a report; what reports accomplish in context; and what reports, as documents, generally look like.
You will be provided with several textbooks that you can use as resources. (Of course, you can also use your own textbooks.) I expect you to synthesize information from multiple sources, and to treat that information critically. You will be expected to cite these resources in an appropriate way for a corporate or industry audience.
I will be looking for reports that themselves model savvy design and other rhetorical strategies at all levels.
